Redline’s Partnership with Mills Motorsport
For several decades, Redline Engineering has grown to become a marquee supplier of CNC precision machining both locally and internationally. The reason we have managed to secure successful long-term partnerships over the years is our clients know just how committed we are to manufacturing world class CNC precision components. We constantly work towards upgrading our equipment which in turn allows us to gain the trust of leading names in the aerospace, defence, biomedical, mining, rail and transport.
The on-going success of Mills Motorsport counts as our own success, with Redline as a long term sponsor of the Mills team. That’s why we were especially thrilled to hear about the annual Victorian Speedcar Drivers Association (VSDA) Awards Night last July, in which Mills Motorsports Group received a ton of accolades. Mills Motorsport, with second-generation motorist Travis “Squizzy” Mills in charge, are known as one of Victoria’s most prominent speedway teams. Squizzy’s professional career has now spanned over 15 years, notably having won the Australian, Victorian and Queensland divisions of the Compact Speedcar Championships.
During this year’s VSDA Awards Night, he went onstage a number of times to accept six awards in total, including his third Southern Speedcar Tour title, his 6th Club Championship as well as this season’s Driver’s Driver, voted by his fellow racers. Squizzy was particularly humbled by this final award, and he even acknowledged that all team and drivers were equally as worthy and therefore should be commended for their efforts.
But there were other highlights for Mills Motorsports Group to celebrate during the event. The team watched proudly as Travis’s son Caleb went up to be crowned Rookie of the Year. It was an extra special moment for the Mills and Pearce families as Caleb made his debut in his father’s Pearce Racing Stewart/Rover V8. Then later came what Squizzy and the whole team had been waiting for – John Mills’ induction into the VSDA Hall of Fame. John, acknowledged for everything he’s done for the sport and for speedcars and automobiles, couldn’t be more honoured by this recognition.
All in all, it was a remarkable evening having three generations of Mills called by their names and celebrated for their achievements. Mills Motorsport is currently preparing for the 2019-2020 season and will soon announce their schedule.
